About the festival

A Theatrical–Musical–Culinary Experience
Sukkot 5786 · October 2025

The magical world of S.Y. Agnon, Nobel Prize laureate and one of the greatest Hebrew authors, comes to life in the heart of Jerusalem.

The festival features: A Simple Story – a new stage adaptation marking 90 years since the novel’s publication, and Tehila – reimagined as an immersive production unfolding in the Khan Theatre’s historic courtyards and spaces.

Alongside the plays you’ll enjoy fascinating lectures in collaboration with Agnon House, live music filling the courtyard, and Jewish culinary flavors that bring Agnon’s stories to life.

Theatre, literature, food, and music meet to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the heart of Jerusalem.

With the purchase of a ticket to any of the festival’s plays, you are welcome to attend the musical performance in the courtyard and enjoy the food tastings. Entry to the lectures is by advance registration at the theatre box office and subject to availability.
