The play takes place in Jersualem before the 1967 war. A religious father who lost his son in the war of independence confronts the secular mayor of Jerusalem. The conflict regards the caption which will be engraved on the mermorial monument erected in memory of the fallen soldiers of the war of independence.

Will it be Yizkor - He shall remember - meaning God, or Nizkor - we shall remember - meaning the citizens of Israel. This is a struggle of principles and beliefs between two heroes - two completely different characters, which touches upon the roots of Israeli existence from it's very beginning and is still relevant to this day.
